Founding REALiZ : The first company to benefit from INRIA-Transfert
support.
The
REALiZ company started in April
1998. The company specializes in software publishing (library, standalones,
plugins, consumer market software) in the area of digital special effects
and computer graphics production.
The know-how of the company stems from research carried out within
project Robotvis
(INRIA Sophia Antipolis) in the framework of European projects. It is
mainly concerned with total control of the geometry of film shots. The
major product, called "Match Mover" computes the 3D trajectory
of the camera used to shoot a scene to allow for the insertion of virtual
objects or 3D special effects during post-production. Cinema, broadcast
and advertising producers are interested in REALiZ technology. There
are also numerous applications in video games.
REALiZ is the first company to benefit from INRIA-Transfert support
(see the
editorial page in INRIA's newsletter, INédit 13). Its founders
are INRIA researchers (Luc Robert, David Geldreich), and former Medialab
executives, a Canal+ subsidiary.
Take care : REALiZ changes its name for REALViZ.
