On September 26, Mons Polytechnic awarded a doctorate Honoris Causa to Michel Cosnard, Chairman and CEO of INRIA since 2006.

This distinction crowns Michel Cosnard's brilliant scientific career as an internationally renowned algorithmic specialist. He is especially recognized for his contributions to the design and analysis of parallel algorithms and to calculations on grids. He has also worked on the complexity of automaton and neuronal networks. He is the author of more than a hundred publications in international journals.
