| CEA-EDF-INRIA General information
Schools have been run for nearly forty years, supporting the development of scientific computing and computer science in France.
CEA-EDF-INRIA Schools |
They have existed in their current form since the beginning of the 1980s. They run over a 3-5 day period and are generally held in the INRIA Paris-Rocquencourt research centre. They aim to present the state-of-the-art of a specific subject in an educational manner. The agenda is usually a combination of mini-lessons and seminars. |

CEA-EDF-INRIA Summer Schools |
The schools were created in the 1960s by the CEA and EDF. INRIA was to join the founding members a few years later. The schools aim to contribute to training and knowledge expansion in the relatively broad fields of numerical analysis and computer science. They generally last for two weeks and are residentia (participants and teachers are provided with on-site accommodation). For many years they were held at the Bréau research centre in Albis. More recently they have been held not far from Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse in a seminar centre. A typical day consists of "chalk and talk" classes in the morning, practical work - often on computers - during the afternoon, sometimes followed by an evening seminar. |
