Satellite telecommunication networks

Satellite networks consist in constellations of small satellites, in general about fifty of them. They have the advantage of being able to cover any point on the globe. Their primary use is mobile telephone or low speed data transmission (fax, email, etc.). In the near future, they will be used for multimedia applications requiring high speed connections. The first part of the book explain the basic concepts on satellite trajectories and presents the current commercial supply in terms of satellite telecommunication. The second part details earth-satellite link modes and message transmission through such networks.

Design Patterns and Contracts

Ce livre présente comment conception par contrats et patrons de conception peuvent être optimalement combinés pour simplifier la construction de logiciels maintenables, fiables et robustes. Après avoir rappelé les principes fondamentaux de la conception par contrats et illustré leur application en Eiffel, UML/OCL et Java pour implanter les patterns classiques, ce livre montre comment s'appuyer sur ces idées pour résoudre des problèmes importants de génie logiciel tels que la gestion de configuration ou la construction d'interfaces graphiques.
