NRIA's 2008-2012 Strategic Plan

Following a lengthy analysis and with many contributions from all levels of the Institute, the 2008-2012 Strategic Plan for INRIA was approved by its Board of Directors in December 2007.The 2008 -2012 Strategic Plan defined seven scientific priorities. The Plan is also a symbol of the Institute’s desire to play its part in an active policy of academic and industrial partnership. It confirms the place of the Institute in the European research arena. It represents an expansion in the objectives defined in previous plans in terms of international scientific collaboration. Consult the abridge or complete versions of the strategic plan.



New Research Centres

Forty years after its creation, INRIA’s strategy continues to focus on regional development and integration with a view to enhancing competitiveness and pushing forward ICST innovation. From 1 January 2008, the Institute is equipped with three new research centres - previously in “incubation” at INRIA Futurs - on sites in Bordeaux, Lille and Saclay.The Institute as a whole is now composed of eight regional centres. The creation of these INRIA research centres is part of the 2008-2012 strategic plan, which sets out the institute’s scientific priorities and its strategic orientations for the coming four years.More...

INRIA's 2006-2009 Four-year Contract

On 7 March, Michel Cosnard - along with François Goulard, Minister Delegate for Higher Education and Research, and François Loos, Minister Delegate for Industry - will sign a contract between the French government and INRIA concerning objectives and resources for 2006-2009. Under this contract, INRIA makes a commitment to its supervising ministries to pursue the growth-oriented policies launched in 2000 and to expand its influence in France and abroad. In return, the government will provide INRIA with the resources necessary for reaching critical mass. Specifically, it will support the creation of the Saclay, Lille and Bordeaux research centres and increase subsidies to €165.7 million in 2009."
