INRIA's Lille - Nord Europe Research Centre is, along with Bordeaux and Saclay, one of the three centres "incubated" at the INRIA Futurs research centre between January 2002 and December 2007. It became a centre in its own right on 1 January 2008.

INRIA Lille - Nord Europe Research Centre brings together 12 research teams in partnership with :

- University of sciences and technologies of Lille (Lille 1),
- University Charles de Gaulle (Lille 3),
- École centrale de Lille and CNRS.

- 7 joint project-teams with LIFL,
- 2 joint project-teams with LAGIS
- 1 joint project-team with laboratoire Paul Painlevé (laboratoire de mathématiques UMR 8524 CNRS and USTL).
