Bruno Sportisse has carried out research at two laboratories within the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (National Institute of Civil Engineering), CERMICS (Scientific Computing, 1996-1999) and then CEREVE (Environment, 1999-2001). He was in charge of a programme on air quality and the greenhouse effect run by the Research Directorate of the French Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Tourism and the Sea (1999-2002). In 2002, he went on to set up CEREA, a research centre for atmospheric modelling run jointly by the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and EDF R&D division, which he has directed up until December 2007. He has also been a senior member of the CLIME project-team at CRI Paris - Rocquencourt. His research is focused on numerical simulation and modelling of atmospheric pollution.
