On September 1, 2008, Dominique Sotteau has been appointed Director of the International Relations Department.

Dominique Sotteau joins INRIA to pursue the international policy of the Institute and strengthen partnerships with the major scientific laboratories and foreign industrialists.
Graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Fontenay-aux-Roses, with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Paris-Sud, Dominique Sotteau has accumulated a wealth of experience in the scientific world and in research administration.
Director of Research at the CNRS, she was most notably in charge of the “Graphs and Combinatory” team of the Information Research Laboratory and Vice President of the Information Research Department of the Université Paris-Sud up to 1999. Her work has resulted in numerous publications in the best international journals of her field.
She was then named Science and Technology Officer at the French Embassy in Prague, and later to the Montreal branch of the French Consulate General in Quebec until the end of 2006. Dominique Sotteau comes to the INRIA after having occupied the position of international relations officer for the Nord Pas de Calais and Picardy regional delegation of the CNRS and that of IR advisor to the General Directorate for Research and Innovation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

She is a Chevalier of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques.
