Hervé Gallaire has been appointed adviser to the General Management for strategic industrial partnerships, on June 1st, 2007.

Hervé Gallaire holds a MSc and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in EECS and from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers in France a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1970, he started his career as Professor and Head of Department at École Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace and Head of informatic Department of the CERT (ONERA). He managed research Departements (CGE, Bull-ICL-Siemens) in France and Germany. He managed also Departements of development (Bull and GSI). In 1992, he joined XEROX and create the European Centre of Research at Meylan-Grenoble. From 2001 to 2005, Hervé Gallaire held the position of President Xerox Innovation Group. He was also Chief Technology Officer at Xerox and Corporate Senior Vice President. He was responsible for overseeing the worldwide research and technology organizations in Xerox. He was also responsible for intellectual property management and licensing. He also oversaw the operations of several companies in the Xerox portfolio, while being on the board of several spin-offs. He retired from Xerox at the end of 2005.

At the same time, Hervé Gallaire has served on the board of many public research organizations, across France and in Europe. He has served as president of scientific societies and has been on the editorial board of several technical journals. He has published a book, edited three other books and authored over 30 technical papers. In 1991, he is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the EECS department at UC Berkeley. In 2000, he was elected a founding member of the Académie des Technologies.
