A history graduate from the University of Franche-Comté, Sylvane Casademont's career began as a Research Officer in a communication agency specialised in youth studies; she then went on to become an adult educator in an agency specialising in management and staff development. In 1993 she joined Bossard Consultants, then, following their merger, Cap Gemini in 2000.  She conducted numerous training sessions in the field of management and communication, and managed several restructuring projects - essentially for companies and organisations in the public sector. She joined INRIA in 2003 as Deputy Director of Scientific Information and Communication. She is appointed as Director of Communications in November 2006.
