Overview

HAL-INRIA - DR

To encourage broader distribution of scientific publications, new communication models are appearing such as Open Archives (OA) and direct communication through e-Journals. They are intended to give free, worldwide access to scientific publications and provide interoperable repositories of research results.

Such ease of access will enable publications and preprints to reach a wider audience, while being available for longer.

INRIA, a key player in STI (Scientific and Technical Information), is committed to the Open Archives Initiative and launched HAL-INRIA in April 2005 to collect and archive its scientific publications along with several publications in the field of STIC.

HAL-INRIA is based on HAL (Hyper Article en Ligne), a broader Open Archive, developed by the Center de Communication Scientifique Directe (CCSD) of the CNRS. Articles archived in HAL-INRIA are visible from HAL and can also be automatically cross-posted to ArXiv, a well-known international Open Archive. HAL-INRIA provides scientists with an environment for submitting and viewing articles in the field of ICT (Information and Communication Technology).

Collection of INRIA Publications

Publications submitted to HAL-INRIA feed into the open National Archives HAL, a multi-disciplinary archive of scientific publications.
