Why archiving?

Submission via HAL-INRIA concerns pre-publication (pre-print) documents or published documents (post-print).

Anyone can view documents, but only scientists in the fields covered by HAL-INRIA (computing and applied mathematics - automatic and scientific calculation) may submit them. Submissions must respect copyright laws and be made either by one of the authors of the document with the agreement of the other authors, or by an authorized person (the laboratory librarian, for example).

Why should I Submit via HAL-INRIA?

Visibility and impact:
Articles published online are immediately and freely available. By putting your articles online, you significantly increase the number of times they are cited by your peers. Online articles are cited up to five times more frequently than the others. Their domestic and international impact is optimized.

Longevity
Many researchers already put their articles on their home pages, or on the home page of their project-team.
What extra benefits does HAL-INRIA provide? For researchers, it is the assurance that all their publications will be indexed and saved (with their various source file formats: LaTeX, ps, TeX and associated pdf) in a single location that will be available for an extended period.
