Project-Team Presentation

The ARLES research project-team investigates solutions to architecture-based development of distributed systems, in order to support the composition of systems offering quality properties to users. In that context, ARLES studies the definition of languages, methods, tools and supporting middleware infrastructures, which ease the development of distributed systems by offering solutions to automated design, analysis and construction of systems. Research work of the ARLES project-team is more specifically centered around the development of distributed systems enabling ambient intelligence applications.

Research themes

  • Architecture-based Development of Distributed Systems:
    • Architecture-based development environment
    • Dependable composition of Web services
    • Dynamic composition of mobile distributed systems
  • Middleware Infrastructure for Mobile Systems:
    • Management of ad hoc distributed systems
    • Quality of service
    • Service discovery and lookup
    • Situation-sensitive access to content and services
