Team Presentation

Joint team with the IMB (CNRS and university Bordeaux 1 et 2).

Economic, scientific and military competition leads many industrial sectors to design ever more successful and reliable processes and equipment. Reliability and quality control, and more generally dependability and safety, have thus become crucial in the field of engineering. The objective of our team is to apply mathematical methods especially probabilistic and statistical tools from estimation and control theory to dependability and safety and more specifically to dynamic reliability and quality control.

Research themes

We investigate the following fields:
  • Design and analysis of realistic and accurate random models for dependability. In particular, models for dynamic reliability and semi- or non-parametric models for quality control.
  • Implementation of estimation algorithms in relation with our stochastic models and evaluation of reliability indexes.
  • Design of control for maintenance and reconfiguration.

International and industrial relations

We have regional, national and international collaborators from both the academic and industrial world.
Relations internationales :
Oswaldo Luiz do Valle Costa, Universidade de São Paulo. Tyrone Duncan, University of Kansas. Robert Elliott, University of Calgary. Lei Guo, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Boris Miller, Monash University Australia, ASR. Raul Montes, Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, Mexico. Keming Yu, Brunel University.

Relations industrielles :
CHANEL: estimation of tolerance curves. IFREMER: the reliability of offshore oil rigs.
