Partnerships with universities and engineering schools
-----------------------

INRIA researchers and engineers participate in university and engineering school teaching, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, involving some 7,500 teaching hours in 2003.

The Institute hosts a great many trainees in its research projects-700 in June 2003-mostly in the framework of DEA and Master training periods and also sometimes as end of studies training periods from engineering schools. Most research projects are associated with one or several DEAs and Masters.

Collaboration with the DEAs and Masters goes even further, since some doctoral programs (15 in 2003) have signed a collaboration agreement with INRIA, and receive subsidies from the Institute to support their operating budget.
