Scientific research is now an international affair. INRIA offers every student (doctoral and post-Doc) this essential opportunity.
INRIA is an institution with a committed international outlook. While mobility
can occasionally be a disadvantage, for example, when applying for certain
grants or having foreign diplomas recognised, the Institute, on the contrary,
actively encourages it. It has set an objective to gradually increase up
to 50% the proportion of new research doctorals, French and foreign, that
have gained experience in an international setting since passing their Masters
With numbers having consistently increased over recent years, foreign doctoral students now make up 38% of the total. Such diversity in recruitment is the first door opened up to the world.
INRIA’s other asset in multicultural terms is the presence of top researchers from 80 different countries.
At INRIA, international opportunities are opened up through language courses, conferences, European projects, and internships at foreign laboratories during or after thesis study. The latter are encouraged and made possible thanks to our many academic and industrial partnerships worldwide.
