Research support roles:
European and International Relations
-----------------------

English version Version française

Support research teams in their international activities, enhance the Institute's attractiveness.

European and International Relations

Developing the qualities of the Institute in order to attract the best researchers of all nationalities, and reinforcing scientific cooperation with high-level foreign partners are two key objectives for our international relations professionals. They support the international activities of research teams by tracking the latest developments, anticipating change, arranging collaborations and seeking opportunities in new countries. This is a role which calls for an understanding of the challenges facing scientists, for curiosity and openness of mind with a view to getting to know countries and their cultures, and for familiarity with the economic and political contexts of the academic and business partners with which INRIA seeks to collaborate.

Why join INRIA?

With research activities extending from mathematics to robotics, we work in an extremely promising sector with extremely broad domains of application.

We realise that our success hinges on INRIA's influence and attractiveness in the international scientific community. That's why we need your skills to maintain and develop partnerships with the best teams worldwide and to attract a large number of young international researchers.

Our model of organisation enables all individuals to express their talents in an intellectually rich environment.

Our policy of professional development favours personal growth and motivation through a stimulating offering: orientation and support programmes, skill assessment, training sessions, validation of professional experience, etc.

Good things to know... Since 2000, INRIA has been pursuing an ambitious development programme aimed at doubling the Institute's size in 10 years.

What the professionals say

“Our objective is to spread the word about excellence in European research.

Our mission is to promote technology transfer, for example by strengthening our links with major European companies. To do this, we draw, in particular, on the European Commission’s Framework Program (FP) for Research and Technological Development and on a certain number of organizations, notably the ERCIM (European Research Consortium in Informatics and Mathematics), of which INRIA is a founding-member and which now has 17 members from 17 European countries. INRIA currently participates in some one hundred projects within the 6th FP, together with academic and business partners from across Europe.”

Jean-Pierre, European Relations Manager INRIA Headquarters

“Work with our foreign partners in a spirit of mutual benefit and exchange.

What’s great is that all these collaborations serve as a source of both new ideas and of scientific questions requiring solutions. The research we take part in together with our partner countries often addresses the economic, socio-economic and environmental challenges they are facing. But we also never lose sight of INRIA’S interests in the programs we support. In addition, we are intent on our foreign partners developing their international competitiveness… that’s what we mean by a spirit of mutual benefit.”
