What the professionals say“This is a very dynamic job in which I maintain relationships with researchers, INRIA’s partners and the Institutes’s entire socio-economical environment.I am in constant contact with science and technology communities, incubators, innovation agencies, local and regional authorities, and other research centers. I follow the progress of major research and development programs, whether they emanate from the European Union, ministries or businesses. I then help research teams determine how they can get involved in these programs and set up collaborations. I have plenty of scope to use my own initiative and am supported by some excellent legal specialists. We provide an effective service to researchers to facilitate the transfer of the results of their research.” Jean-Loïc, Industrial Relations and Valorization Manager, INRIA Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique“Our objective is to see that the results of INRIA’s research make an impact on society, over and above their academic impact. We manage the Institute’s intellectual assets, chief among them software, but also patents, brands and domain names. We seek to ensure that transfer takes place on the best possible terms, in collaboration with researchers and with the industrial relations managers for the various research units. We implement INRIA’s strategy for technology transfer, using a wide range of tools, including licenses for free software. In this role, we deal with the administrative, legal and financial aspects… maintaining a good overview of the technological issues and business procedures.” Luc, Intellectual Assets and Valorization Department Manager, INRIA Headquarters |
